I recently had a chance to chat with soaps' cutest real-life duo, Molly Burnett (Melanie) and Casey Jon Deidrick (Chad). They were in the DAYS publicity office, along with Burnett's mom, who was visiting. Molly and Casey were very engaging and open about their romance and even talked about a little behind-the-scenes "war" they're having with James Scott (EJ):


Digest:
What is it like to read about each other in the press?

Deidrick:
Well, James [Scott, EJ] and I are fighting right now.

Burnett:
James and Casey are in a war!

Digest:
Why?

Deidrick:
'Cause I saw that little quote about Molly being filthy.

Burnett:
Melanie! Melanie being filthy.

Burnett:
So he and my mom cornered James Scott!

Deidrick:
James and I threw it down today, so he knows there will be a battle.

There's a more full article in SOD I believe this week in regards to Molly and Casey's relationship. I thought it was cute there is a backstage 'war' between Casey and James over James comment about who he wanted to have an affair with. It's interesting James picked Melanie to have a fling with, because in a previous interview he said Melanie was 12. LOL Anyways, maybe, I'm mistaken, I read James had commented he wanted EJ to start a relationship with Stephanie who was played by the red-haired actress Shayna Rose at the time. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyways, it just seems interesting James is saying twice he wants to work two redheads. Let's hope he doesn't pick Maggie for his next hook-up. I'm kidding! Anyways, this story is adorable and Molly and Casey make an adorable couple. It would be great to see scenes of Molly and Casey together.

I think James is partical to redheads.
