This is not about Finland. I only want to point out the British forbade mayday celebrations. Church thought there was too many people drunk and having relations outside of marriage. It is a historical fact, not a joke. The Swedes forbade Sauna, which was once common in lots of Europe as well as elsewhere - elsewhere it was and is called Sauna, in Sweden they call it bastu (meaning Sauna) - It is a documented, historical fact that it happened and the reason was, as also (and seriously) told by the leading Swedish newspaper, because there was too many men who had relations with each other in the Saunas.
