Cold Opening In the first SNL sketch ever, a dutiful student takes English lessons from a stodgy professor by repeating back everything said to him. When the professor falls over from a heart attack, the student mimics him by falling over, too. With student and pupil on the floor, Chevy Chase pops in to announce those immortal words, "Live from New York it’s Saturday Night!"

Guest Performance: Andy Kaufman In this now-classic bit, Andy lip synchs the chorus of the "Mighty Mouse" theme song while fidgeting nervously and drinking water between choruses. Though it may not sound like much, it's downright hilarious and a fine example of Andy's unique comic sensibility.

Sketch: Home Security Two security experts simulate an assault and burglary at the expense of a young couple. To solve these security flaws, they offer total security protection plans consisting of T.P.F.L.M's (Tactically Positioned Front Lawn Mines): toilet bowl piranhas, sandwich sensitive hot plate lasers, and more. The couple finally buys the system when they discover one of the "experts" holding their son hostage.
