The first cartoon to appear on SNL was "Mr. Bill" on February 28, 1975. Mr. Bill was actually a fan submission from a man named Walter Williams. Since then, many cartoons have aired on the program. The best known are Robert Smigel's series of "TV Funhouse" cartoons [1] . "TV Funhouse" also became the name of a short-lived comedy/variety program on cable television.
