Hi All,

Many of you already know because of the yahoo group, and maybe it's popped up here, though I didn't see it, but I was chatting with Jon the other day and asked if he'd be interested in doing an interview about the comic book. He said he'd absolutely be willing.

I told him I'd keep it short, so I'm going to try to limit it to 4 or 5 questions.

I thought this would be a great opportunity for the faithful fans still plugging away so I wanted to open it up for suggestions.

I'll select a few questions submitted here, the yahoo group, and to Gwen's list. Deadline is Thursday 3:00 eastern.

What do you want to know? Fire away!

How different was it writing and presenting Jericho in Comic format versus telling the story on TV?

Will we see any nods to the fans like we did on TV season two?

Why are we keeping it short? We have busted our butts off, if he is willing to talk we gotta lot of questions and I for one would like some answers to what is forth coming and what his idea's/knowledge is. Comic is not what we want, we take what is dealt but the big question is ''What about our Movie'' when?
I want it NOW, season 3 who's pickin it up? Nail it Jason, yeah I know the questions that most reporters are afraid to ask. You asked that's my response, lets stop with all the wishy/washy questions and get to the real meat and taters.

I'll answer it - Season 3 is not happening and only years from now if a Comic and or Movie take off - JMO.

Now the movie is a viable discussion point and very possibly in the works.....

Lets keep the questions flowing!

Are there any ARG plans like Jericho's Tom Tooman and Harpers Island/Globe to promote Comic and potential movie?

Any thoughts on the UK paper 5 part story called "Operation Blackjack" that received a lot of recent International press. The similarities to Jericho were very compelling.

Wouldn't hurt to ask about anyone picking up Season 3 on TV just to let him know we all are still interested.

I also like beebull's question about what he thinks of Day One. If he thinks it is a ripoff trying to pick up Jericho Fans and if he thinks it will attract more Nielsen viewers as it is set in a metropolitan area versus a rural area of the country.

And my third question would be about how many of the TV characters will be Comic.

Of course I could go on and on....but....

Thanks RP for doing this! biggrin.gif

Hey RP, great to see you here! By the way, you did a fantastic job at the WHTJ auction, quite the comedian you are! Maybe ask how much time will pass in a typical issue or in the entire series. Is one issue equivalent to like an hour long episode? Or will passing time vary from issue to issue?

Yeah, I've always wondered what changes were made to fit their original script of 23 episodes into just 7. If you can find out, that would be great!

Jason I appreciate everything that I know you have done for the Jericho fandom and I''m sure much more than what I do know, however a stupid comic is still an insult to Jericho, I want the hard questions answered, you me an everybody want's to know ''When if there is ''MOVIE'' When? I want an answer to a movie deal not a stupid comic adventure. Trying not to pressure you but we deserve an honest answer, Give it up or keep fighting?

Cool, this interview and Comic Con panel should bring updates on the Jericho front soon!

I'll put in my 2 cents Beebull.

As long as we continue to work for Jericho there is hope for a movie and
more seasons.

If we walk away any hope for Jericho is gone and the show dies....

I am going to stay and fight till we get the job done regardless of what anybody says.

It ain't nothin but a dumb butt Comic book period, no matter how ya all wanna look at it period, dead end, story over, Ya know we might be better off boy-cotting it and let it fail in support, course I know rangers won't so I'm with ya but this udderly disgust me for the writers, actors, and all the behind scene folks, I Will not accept this as the finale of Jericho, no way.

Beebull,

Here's the problem, Jon and the producers aren't in control of the fate of a movie. They want to make it as much as we want to watch it. They have to get investors (a studio) to buy it, fund it, shoot and distribute it. They're not the bad guys in this.

The fact that they got Devil's Due to invest in continuing the story through this comic book is a good thing. The last episode of season 2 could have been the very end of the story for Jericho fans.

From the perspective of the producers, this is a chance to keep the story alive. If they were to hold out for a movie and refuse this comic book or any other medium, the story might possibly be over.

I know you're not all that thrilled about it, and sure, I'd like to see Jericho before the cameras much more than I want to see it in comic book form, but I'm glad the story will continue.

I talked to Jon about the movie earlier this week. They have every intention and desire to make it happen. Basically the comic book will help if it's successful because it will prove that there's still interest in the story. If there's success in one medium, studios will feel a lot more confidence in taking it further.

Keep in mind that this is a twice cancelled series. Not exactly the first place you'd look for your next big hit.

If you're frustrated, aim that frustration to the studios, not the producers because they're most definitely on our side. They want to tell the story, and the comic book is the only offer that's been inked. They're still looking for someone to "buy" and run with the movie.

Lastly, I think there is always a reason to hold out at least some hope. I recently read about the last Superman movie. They were in "development" for more than 15 years. Deals almost came together several times and fell apart. They went through 6 different titles/scripts and I believe even more directors. They even had it cast and costumed at one point.

Having a film in development is a long way from having it on screen. The intent to make it happen is there for Jon, Dan and Karim, and Carol. They've just gotta find someone to sign on the dotted line.

My 2˘
Jason
